Directions

Both the ceremony and the reception will be held at the Historic Riverview on the James which is located just a few minutes from downtown Lynchburg, VA. It's an outdoor venue, so please dress accordingly.

From Downtown Lynchburg
(approx. 8 minutes)
From Holiday Inn turn LEFT onto Main St. and then turn RIGHT at stoplight onto 5th St.
From Craddock Terry Hotel (on Commerce Street one block below main) turn RIGHT onto Main St. Continue down Main St. (past Holiday Inn on your left) to stoplight. Turn RIGHT at stoplight onto 5th St.
- Take 5th St. across the James River (John Lynch Bridge) into Amherst County heading north.
- At the top of the hill turn RIGHT at your first stoplight onto Rt. 210 East. This is your final turn.
- Keep STRAIGHT through next 3 stoplights.
- Continue straight on Rt. 210 crossing over the Rt. 29 bypass.
- Continue straight and onto the gravel road past the green Historic Riverview Way street sign.
- Continue straight to the VA Historic Landmark sign, Historic Riverview on the James sign and flagpole.
- Go through the gate and enjoy the 2 minute forested drive to Historic Riverview on the James.
From the Kirkley Hotel
(approx. 15 minutes)
From the Hotel turn LEFT onto Candlers Mountain Rd. (VA-128 East) and then merge onto US-460 East towards Appomattox.
- Look for large overpass signs for Rt. 29 North Charlottesville/Amherst.
- Take the RIGHT exit for Rt. 29 North Charlottesville/Amherst.
- Cross the James River (Monocan Bridge) into Amherst County.
- Take first exit on RIGHT for Rt. 210, downtown Lynchburg, Randolph College, Hospital.
- Keep STRAIGHT at the end of the ramp to the stop sign. Do not bear right (to downtown Lynchburg).
- Turn LEFT at the stop sign and STRAIGHT onto the gravel road past the green Historic Riverview Way street sign.
- Continue straight to the VA Historic Landmark sign, Historic Riverview on the James sign and flagpole.
- Go through the gate and enjoy the 2 minute forested drive to Historic Riverview on the James.
From points North via Rt. 29 Bypass
(approx. 3.5 hours from DC, just over and hour from Charlottesville)
From DC, take I-66 W to US-29 S towards Charlottesville. Follow signs for "South Bypass"
- Approximately 9 miles south of the town of Amherst look for downtown Lynchburg signs.
- Take RIGHT exit for "Downtown Lynchburg, CVTC." (VA-210 West)
- Turn LEFT at the end of the ramp onto Rt. 210 East and keep STRAIGHT.
- Continue straight on Rt. 210 crossing over the Rt. 29 bypass.
- Continue straight past signs for US-29 North towards the gravel road ahead.
- Continue straight and onto the gravel road past the green Historic Riverview Way street sign.
- Continue straight to the VA Historic Landmark sign, Historic Riverview on the James sign and flagpole.
- Go through the gate and enjoy the 2 minute forested drive to Historic Riverview on the James.
From Richmond
(approx. 2.5 hours from Richmond)
- Take the Powhite Parkway south (VA-76 S)
- Take RIGHT exit for VA-288 South towards Amelia / Chesterfield
- Take ramp RIGHT for US-360 West toward Amelia
- Drive 31.4 miles then bear RIGHT onto Holly Farms RD / VA-307
- Drive approx. 9.5 miles then bear RIGHT onto US-460 W / Prince Edward Hwy. Drive about 50 miles.
- Take the RIGHT exit for Rt. 29 North Charlottesville/Amherst.
- Cross the James River (Monocan Bridge) into Amherst County.
- Take first exit on RIGHT for Rt. 210, downtown Lynchburg, Randolph College, Hospital.
- Keep STRAIGHT at the end of the ramp to the stop sign. Do not bear right (to downtown Lynchburg).
